Privacy Policy — umd
Last updated: April 3, 2026
1. Overview
umd ("the App") is a mobile markdown viewer/editor with AI agent monitoring. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
2. Data We Collect
- Anonymous Account: The App uses Firebase Anonymous Authentication to create a unique identifier (UID). No email, name, or personal information is required.
- Agent Monitoring Data: When you set up AI agent monitoring, tool usage events (tool name, timestamp, file paths) are transmitted from your development machine to Firebase Realtime Database.
- Synced Files: Markdown (.md) files edited by AI agents on your PC may be synced to the App for viewing. File content is stored in Firebase.
- Device Information: Crash reports (via Firebase Crashlytics) may include device model, OS version, and crash stack traces. This is opt-in only.
- Subscription Data: Purchase and subscription information is managed by RevenueCat and Google Play. We do not store payment details.
3. How We Use Data
- To provide real-time AI agent monitoring functionality
- To sync markdown files between your PC and mobile device
- To manage subscription access and feature gating
- To improve app stability through crash reporting (opt-in)
4. Data Retention
- Agent event data is automatically deleted based on your subscription plan (Free: 1 day, Personal: 7 days, Pro: 7 days).
- Inactive accounts with no activity for 30 days will have their monitoring data automatically deleted.
- Local data (settings, agent configurations) is stored on your device and deleted when you uninstall the App.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties. Data is shared only with:
- Firebase (Google): Authentication, database, crash reporting
- RevenueCat: Subscription management
6. Security
Agent monitoring data is protected by path-based security rules in Firebase. Each user can only access their own data through authenticated requests. Hook secrets are unique per agent and cannot be used to access other users' data.
7. Your Choices
- You can disable crash reporting in Settings.
- You can delete your agent and its associated data from the App.
- You can uninstall the App to remove all local data.
8. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
9. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
